The UML Department of Teaching Excellence Award is awarded to one faculty member per year who have shown innovation and excellence in their teaching.

The List of Teachers Ranked as Excellent is compiled from student ratings on Instructor and Course Evaluation (ICES) questionnaire forms at the end of each semester. To be included in the list as outstanding, a TA must be rated in the top 10%. I was on the list for TAing BIOE 202: Cell and Tissue Engineering Lab.

Given by the Biomedical Engineering Division (BED) at the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE), this award recognizes the best poster in the BED poster session at the ASEE Annual Conference. I received this award for my poster “Blinded” Grading Rubrics for Bioengineering Lab Reports (Work in Progress).  Check out the paper in the publications page!

Given by the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Illinois, this award is given to a bioengineering graduate student whom showed outstanding service to the department and stood out as a leader. I received this award for founding GradBMES which aids the department in providing professional development and social events to its students.

Given by the the Biomedical Engineering Division, this travel award supports my travel to the national American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) conference to discuss and present my research.

Given by the Graduate College at the University of Illinois, this award “celebrates graduate students who have engaged in outstanding service that has positively impacted the the campus or wider Urbana-Champaign community.” I received special distinction for co-founding iFEAT which aims to increase the representation of women in engineering faculty positions.

The iFEAT program is honored to be a finalist for this award given by the Office of Volunteer Programs which “honor individuals and student groups for their volunteer efforts and service projects on and off-campus throughout their time at the University of Illinois”.

This fellowship program from the National Science Foundation provides three years of funding for outstanding graduate students in NSF-supported science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines.
